My den has participated in two lock-ins at the Dallas Museum of Natural
history. I would recommend it to anyone. We did the "Bat Buddy Sleepover"
and the "Digging up Texas". The bat buddy was better for me. the boys wanted
to build a bat box to erect in my backyard. I vetoed that one. The cost
is high ($25.00), but the boys had pizza for dinner, and doughnuts/muffins
for breakfast. They received a patch and had a good time. We did not do
it this year because it was "Butterflies" and the guys just couldn't get
into it. The staff was great.
My son was able to go with some other boys from my pack to a sleepover at
Seaworld in San Antonio. That cost about $50.00 and was a Shark lock in.
He made a tee-shirt, got a patch had dinner, access to the entire park and
all the soda he wanted. I heard great things about it.
I would encourage anyone in the area to participate in these if they can.
Both the Dallas museum and SeaWorld seem to put on quality programs.
