My 14 and 11 year old grandsons are spending the weekend with us (live 35
miles away). Their troop has been to Boone often. The older says the regular
program was down this past summer from previous years which were
outstanding. Judging from their accomplishments I'd say the camp was much
better than those I attended in the late 30s and early 40s and in the 70s.
Advancement Guidelines say an Eagle Board doesn't retest - but it doesn't
say a dad or a granddad can't. Be assured that my 2 Eagle sons and the 2
grandsons (one is Life) have been retested, particularly after summer camp.
I have found my grandsons to be sufficiently knowledgeable in the
requirements they passed at Boone. Of course knowing that I was waiting
might have helped the learning process. 8-)

I believe this is true every year. What did Yogi say "Nobody goes there any
more because it's too crowded". I'd say that was a sign of success.
I hope 1996 was just a down year because I know their troop plans to return
- and it's a long way from KY.
