The book says 6 months. We don't stick to a strict schedule; we have them
every 6 - 12 months.

(usually rank is enough) and anyone who meets the requirements is elgible
for nomination. And if they elect someone who you think is the wrong choice

of all the help consider it a learning experience for the Scouts--they have
to learn to look at leadership & qualifications more than popularity.
