I have just a few more suggestions to make on the PTA issue.
I am the Committee Chairman for our Cub Scout Troop as well as Charter Rep.
and PTO ( as our school Calls the PTA) Pres.and our pack is sponsored by the
PTO. The best way to keep the PTA as your charter is for all of your Cub
parents to also be active members of the PTA. The more active you are
volunteering for PTA activities (parents and Cubs), The more the board and
members get to know you. Also be active at the school that sponsors the PTA,
service projects for the school go a long way, your school principal is
probably an executive board member and will fight for you if he or she thinks
that your program benifits the boys and the school. But the main thing is to
have all of your members at PTA meetings so htat if it comes down to a vote
of the members that you can get a debate going and educate those that always
vote the way of the board because they don't have all of the facts.
I hope this helps.
