Your older congreagation (ours is really old!) will very much enjoy Scout
Sunday. It is likely part of their tradition. Have the Scouts usher,
take offering, greet, uniforms of course, have special recognition will
bring back memories for them. Perhaps cake and punch after church. See
if the medals come with some sort of liturgy for you to use. We did a God
and Service Adult Recognition and it came with a liturgy to use.
One note - advertize ahead of time that Scout Sunday is coming up. Our
principal greeter is 80+ and was disappointed that he didn't know. He
wanted to wear his Eagle pin from 1928!!
Ours last year was the first in many years. It won't be the last
(although to be fair, we may have it nearer to GSUSA's Thinking Day or J.
