I would not be too quick to split your den. In almost 4 years as a
Cubmaster I learned the hard way that one large den is better
than two small ones. With a small den, if one or two boys miss
a meeting it can really limit the kind of activities you can do.
Look at your numbers for each grade level. Is it a typical pyramid
(fewer boys in the older grades)? If so, then after you spit your
den you will be faced with merging them back together as soon
as next year.
