I have a quest for my Cub Scout Pack. We are in the early stages
of planning a spring trip to Gettysburg and we need some help.
I have been requested to ask, via Scouts-L, for places to stay and
things for the "Must do/see" list in the area. We expect that about 40
to 50 scouts and parents will be going on our trip.
The most important issue will be an inexpensive place to stay, (ie
cheap :-). When the pack went 8 years ago they were able to stay at a
local military base in the "barracks", and eat at the mess hall. We do
not know if the base is there any more. The parent that went on that
trip, and is still around, does not remember the name, and our new CC
is not able to find any records for the trip in the "boxes" from the
If anyone in the area can help us out with information and pointers
we will be very greatful.
