Hi, I'm Gina Gasper from Troop 627, located in Delevan, Seneca District,
Alleghany Highlands Council (I'm also registered with Greter Niagar
Frontier Council) . Cuba Ice Camp will be held on February 14, 15 & 16,
1997. I would highly recommend this event to any group that can attend.
The experience of camping on frozen ice is not to be missed! (It really
is fun - and it's not that hard to stay warm if you know the tricks!)
Once you have camped on the lake it's also a real learning experience for
the Scouts to return to Cuba Lake in the summer to compare the shoreline.
Since the lake is lowered in the winter, the level of the ice is
approximately 10 to 20 feet below the summer water level. It makes a
real impression - even on the adults. If anyone is interested in more
details please contact me directly and I'll get you more information.
