I have the 2-door model and I love it. Three main advantages:
1) I don't have to think about which end is the front--they both are.
2) Better cross ventelation on warm nights.
3) Two people can get in & out without climbing over each other.
Can't think of any disadvantages.
BTW I have the Alpine Meadows model. Almost the same as the Timberline but
it has a center hoop that gives more room inside (important when you are my
