Helping out Newcomers to SCOUTS-L

I'll try to keep this very short. There has been a lot of
discussion on this wonderful list (I look forward to my Digest each a.m.)
about postings that repeat threads from long ago.
Please remember that there are many newcomers, such as myself, that
are not aware of many things that go on in listserves, newsgroups, IRCs,
etc. I have learned more about electronic communication and the BSA in the
2 months here on the list than I ever could have anyplace else. Also the
very civility of the messages and responses is heartening (having put a
carefull worded suggestion on a usenet and "arrogant b*" was one of the

that was sent to me by a friend, have peace of mind over the P=Trax
database issue, gain confidence about my new role as Wolf Leader and
Tenderfoot Mom, and have some very hearty chuckles and tears over your
postings. Thanks for the ideas, the info, the referrals to proper parts of
the web, and your patience. And thanx for welcoming us newcomers with open
arms. The safety here is immeasurably dear.
Please bear with us as we learn. Continue answering our "silly"
questions, and keep this virtual campfire burning. It is inspiring.
Now, 2 questions:
One: What are the "3Gs" (I figure Government, Guns, and ..?).
Two: Can someone send me the recipe for Rattlesnake Stew?

Thank you, Mike, for this info. I wasn't aware that we could do this (get
