I agree 100% that Polar Fleece is about the best fabric around,
along with Gortex (my favorite winter combo)...and as a camp
blanket it is GREAT, BUT it makes a poor "Campfire Blanket".
Believe me, I've had first hand experience at this. My advise is
don't take Polar Fleece blankets to campfires, unless you plan to
stand way back in the cold. You don't have to be very close to
the fire for a meltdown! :( Polar-Tek Fleece is very pricey and
it really is quite upsetting when you find it with holes and
feeling like sand paper after that wonderful campfire.
