This is a shot in the dark,
. . . but is there anything that you can insert into the Webelos book
to further encourage the Boys to seek out Troops?
I still have trouble with Webelos Leaders contacting Scoutmasters (even
after the SM takes the initiative and is supportive). I'm in the
Military, so I have to create more new relationships with Packs than
most as I move about the country. I consistently find hesitance by the
Webelos Leaders in contacting Troops, making visits and cordinating
activities. My current Council is very supportive of the Webelos -- Boy
Scout relationship. I understand how to make relations better and make
a significant effort at it, but I often miss the first year's graduates
while I build this new relationship.
If the boys had to write down the Scoutmaster's phone number, Troop
number and meeting location as part of their Arrow of Light requirement
it might help save some of the boys who don't think about BSA until the
