I don't think that this is quite correct. Our Scout shop has started charging
sales tax for personal purchases. If you are making a troop purchase, you must
submit a tax exemption form with your Troop's tax exempt number on it. If
all troops were covered under one blanket tax exempt number then why make each
troop go through this procedure?
As I posted before, I believe the troop uses the tax exempt number from its
chartering organization if it has one. At least that is the way it was
explained to me!
