The sales tax issue later raised seems like an ancillary issue here.
The real issue (hiding beneath) is: What happened that made this made
change his tone so? While once quite friendly to your unit in that he
donated generously in the past he now has become openly hostile.
What was said or done to him? Is this directed towards Scouting or just
your unit? Is it perhaps aimed at someone in the leadership?
IMO, the real issue here (with him) has nothing to do with sales tax!
