You might want to look into the Veteran Scout program. They have pins
recognizing various levels of tenure in Scouting. You can get more
information at your council office. There is a form that you fill out

As far as I'm concerned, if you want to go for maximum choke factor, you
could do no better than to have the boys come up with something (maybe a
leather or wood plaque) that expresses their feelings toward this man
amoung men. With that kind of record you can bet it will have a place of
honor among his other awards.
