WANTED SCOUTS FOR A JOURNEY BACK IN TIME
Once again several Scouters from Clinton Valley Council are
organizing the unique Brownsea Island living exhibit, a
representation of the first experimental camp set up in 1907 by
General Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scout movement.
Sixty Boy Scouts are needed to don typical clothing that English
boys wore in the first decade of this century, and to conduct a
program of activities just like the Lord Baden-Powell conducted at
Brownsea. If you are selected, you'll be speaking with a British
accent, conducting tours, and demonstrating 1907 era activities
before you know it.
You will be part of a provisional troop under your own leadership
with adult supervision, and you will have time to see all of the
exhibits at the Jamboree, and even have optional opportunities for
advancement, if you choose to take advantage of them.
Qualifications: You must be a registered Scout born between Sept
1, 1976 and July 1, 1981. The cost (not including transportation
and other incidentals) for staff is $445.
If you are interested in taking this journey back in time and living
the life of the boys who were with Lord Baden-Powell on that first
experimental camp please contact Rick Bassett at Clinton Valley
Counil offices (810) 338-0035 FAX (810) 338-0039 or Tim Nash at
