Hello fellow scouters
Whil I agree with what Bob Rosebrough said, I clipped a cogent remark:
> The workbook represents a Scout's best effort and is not a scientific journal
While note an article for publication, as Advancement Chairman (retired,
August 1996) and Committee Chairman (promoted June 1996), I am not going to
sign off on one which is less that the best effort. In the community I
work, almost all of the boys have access to computers (and sometimes laser
printers). Since their proposals come nicely typed and formatted, the write
up should also. I insist on proper grammar and spelling (SHOULD they turn
in anything less in school??).
While in a different setting I might have different standards, I just wish
that National wasn't so hung up on the outdated, inadequate format of the
Eagel Work Book. (Simple signature pages, to insert in a final copy would
Let me just add (about the workbook) that since I always make a copy of
anything sent to Council and National, and Council makes a copy too, we
spend a lot of unecessary time "futzing" with the workbook when a stapled
8.5 x 11 could be fed through a document feeder of a copy machine!
(stepping of short soap box now.....VBG)
