Just something short and sweet on this topic folks.
IF you are going to do a smoke effect, please check for sprinklers in the
area. If you have sprinklers in the room where you are going to do the smoke
effect, exercise great caution and don't overdo.
Scoutarama, 1995...our pack had a computer display. We were situated right
next to a troop that had a showtime display. There big draw, the smoke
effect. For eight hours we were next to them. And, we kept looking
upwards at the overhead sprinklers that were installed for our safety. You
know, we made it through the whole show w/o incident. After we were
breaking down (and luckily after the computers were removed) the sprinklers,
and of course alarms went off. I know you won't be doing it for eight
hours, but they were using a very small smoke effect in a very large room
where it could disperse, etc. A large smoke effect in a small room, could
'dampen' the spirits of the onlookers.
