Perhaps my years as an attorney have made me a bit cynical, but I am not
anything one can do with marijuana EXCEPT use or distribute it. Unless this
fellow had some unusual medical need, or really esoteric tastes in
landscaping, statements from him that he neither used it or sold it have a
bit of a ring of weaseling about them. On the other hand, if he genuinely
has made a mistake, owned up to it, accepted responsibility, and (this is
the big one in my book) is willing to be really upfront about how stupid and
dangerous drug use is to any youth placed under his responsibility, he
probably deserves a chance. A really closely observed, supervised chance.
