I am the CC fopr Troop 40 Passaic Valley Council, North-east NJ. My
easiest answers are YES YES YES YES YES YES.
I attend every troop, PLC, campout, district round table, and many
council/district training and award meetings.
I have 6 years experience but only 2 years as a registered Scouter. There
is a need and I said yes. Although I'm the Committee Chairman, I also
fill in other positions. I am the Advancement Chairman, I think it's one
of the best jobs. I am one of 2 ASM's for new scouts, We have 2 patrols
of new scouts and I think it's one of the best jobs. We have a great
Scout Master but he's over worked like the rest of us so I help him with
training, records, SMCs, I think it's one of the best jobs. As the CC I
decide where I'm needed, then I step in and do it. I've recruited 4 new
Scouters, only one of them is a real benefit, but no talant is turned
away, we need all the help we can get.
So I guess the CC is really the best job I have because I do what I want.
By the book ? No it probably is not by the book, but the books purpose
is "TO DELIVER THE PROMISE". And if someone stands in the way when We're
trying to deliver the promise, he'll find foot prints up his back.
I'm always glad to hear from anyone.
