In the USA version of Wood Badge, one of the primary methods of learning is
"the discovery method." Using this method, the learner is expected to "discover
" the lesson to be learned through direct experience rather than be
taught it by an expert lecturer. To make this method work, the learner must
be kept in the dark, so to speak. I'm not sure this method is appropriate for a
ll learners, but it does seem effective in most cases.

I'm not sure why BSA keeps the Wood Badge materials secret ... here in UK
anybody can buy the training materials from Gilwell Park.
