Mike is most likely at a disadvantange due to his current location,
perhaps he doesn't have all his references with him.
The recruiter stip shows up twice in the Insignia Guide (#33064). On page
13, it states "Cub Scout, below right pocket". On page 23 it states "Boy
Scout, below right pocket". It appears NOWHERE ELSE in the guide. I take
this to mean it may only be worn by Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. I have never
heard in all my years as a Scout & Scouter that adults may wear the strip.
BTW Mike - if the main thing is for adult awards to be awarded to adults for
doing things with or for other adults, how do we justify the Scoutmaster
Award of Merit, or the training awards for that matter? All of these awards
are presented to adults because of what they do FOR YOUTH! How about the
Scoutmaster, Cubmaster or Advisor who receive the District Award of Merit,
Silver Beaver, Spurgeon Awrd, etc, etc, for their service to YOUTH? And
before we go talking about the District and Council work for those two
awards, I'm sure we have all seen them given to Scouters whose inly work is
within units. I have seen several.
Nope the main thing is for adults to work toward earning what is set up for
adults to earn, and leave the youth recognitions for youth to earn.
I'm sure that's what you meant, isn't it?
Just poking - even though I'm retired now, I still remember what it means
when you're deployed, working with new folks and new organizations, and the
boss wants the world complete sometime yesterday!! Good Luck over there
Mike, I think of you everyday.
