I wrote to the list, hoping to hear from other TAC Scouters here in my part
of the country going, willing to give me a ride to Gilwell in exchange for gas
coupon money (in Europe, American forces buy gasoline coupons to offset
the cost between a liter of gasoline and a gallon of gasoline in the States).
I haven't heard from anyone, and as I explained to Ian, I can't now.

Well, I finally got MOST of it ready except for the photos this morning at 0712.
That's when I signed the log book to leave and go home and rest for three hours.
I've come back to work, and find that our scanning bed is dead, that the
our CIO has taken won't now be back for three days (backlog, and because I
don't have enough "rank" and my boss and his boss are both someplace where I
can't easily reach them, there's not enough "rank" on the installation to
make them work any
faster!!), I'm now having to go out on the "economy" and get those photos
scanned and placed in the publications for the printing presses to take over!
What a nightmare!! I thought this week would be a GRAVY WEEK!!
Anyways, I'm not able to attend this year's Gilwell Reunion, but you've
better believe that I'll be sitting around her tomorrow thinking about being
there and meeting Ian
for the first time and all of the other fine European Scouters that I've
with electronically but hasn't had the chance to do so in person!!
I will, eventually, I will....
I do understand, however, that several members of the Channel District, TAC,
will be in attendance and *somehow* they have been asked to watch for your name
when you sign in there.....plus Ian (Ford, in case you didn't know his last
I have been talking today about the coordination.
Have a great time...and thanks for making the call through the Scouts-L list!
