Last night we had the first Fundraiser for the Cub Scouts since my wife
and I took over this pack. We made arrangements with the local Burger
King restaurant where the boys would sign up for 30 minute shifts to work.
We needed at least 4 boys per shift for 6 shifts. We ended up with 7 boys
showing up total! Some of them worked their 30 minutes and left while 3 boys
talked woth their parents and volunteered to cover all the shifts whereever
they were needed. Would I be out of line to call these boys forward at the
next Pack meeting for special acknowledment of their actions? 1 boy worked
5 out of the 6 shifts, he would have worked all 6 but I bought him some
food and made him take a break.
I feel these 3 boys should be recognized for what they did last night,
(their parents need recognition also) but I am not sure how to do this.
I do not want to upset the others by doing this. Any suggestions?
By the way, they earned over $165 for 3 hours of delivering food trays,
washing tables and sweeping the floor.
