Our troop has had, and does have, several bank accounts both savings and
checking. We have a tax ID number issued by the U.S. government, which we
had no trouble getting. We are registered as a 501(c)(3) entity, and we
also have a Minnesota State Tax ID number. We had no trouble getting any of
these, nor were we ever told that we could not be so registered. I know of
other units that have done the same thing.
