My point, though, is that we are not as low impact as we probably should
be. My "prime problem" is so-called camp improvements and ground fires,
both of which do far more environmental damage than is commonly supposed.
Oh, yes, folks who go off the trail (cross country) in sensitive areas....
The suggestions made by some of the others in the group regarding internet
sites for low impact camping are, in my opinion, a very, very good
beginning. And, yes, I hate to jump through hoops just because someone
else has screwed up, too. But before I can take on this problem, I need
to make sure that my house is entirely clean....
