Well I had to chime in here haveing just gotten back from Philmont a
couple of weeks ago. Yes, it is beutiful out there and I am returning
with my older boys for a trek next June. But, as I told everyone out
there who kept reminding me how wonderful it was, I just had to smile and
say "Yes it is beutiful, but I find the mountains and country side of
West Virginia to be more beutiful. Just a personal opinion, I like lots
of green. I think that what you don't get at all these other wonderful
locals that you do get at Philmont is the "shared Scouting experience".
At least to me that was what it was really all about.
