Sorry I didn't say The beret couldn't be worn with the new uniform. It was
issued when the new uniforms came out. I said you can't mix and match different
period uniforms like the red beret with the green uniform.
I still wear my beret once in while to see if I get challenged for it. I wish
they would go back to the beret.
Yes the world crest was worn by world jamboree attendees, but how many people
have you run into that actually went back then. My point was, BSA policy is that
the period uniform must be a technically correct period uniform. The world crest
was not a off the shelf badge as it is now and the person in question did not
attend a world jamboree.
If you wear a older period uniform, get it right is all I'm saying or expect to
be challenged by someone on it.
It still was great to see the old green uniform in all its glory again!!
I also would love to see the summer collarless shirt design come back. It was
really made for hot summer use. and was a pleasure to wear a neckerchief with.
