THAT'S IT! I mean REALLY people, HAPPY BIRTHDAY for petes sake?
Get a grip, ASCAP, and all who would presume to make what will clearly be copiou
money from summer camps...(yeah, right) And how many of these nickels and dimes
go to the authors and how many to ASCAP and the lawyers.
Please don't bother trying to explain to me how these leeches are "just preservi
the intellectual property rights of the artist." Somebody ask Peter Yarrow if he
wants to charge a Girl Scout group to sing PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON around the fire
Please don't bother with such simplistic drivel as "if we allow the summer camps
GET AWAY WITH IT, where will it end?!!"
Possibly it will end with a little common sense, civility and a little more resp
for human institutions such as childhood and a little less fear of such as THE L
OF THE LAW.
At the risk of flaming or being deep-fried by many members of this list, I fear
Shakespeare really got it right in (I believe) "HENRY VI", Part 2, scene 3...
"...the first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers..."
O.K., NOT much civility displayed here, but I am REALLY tweaked about this!
