There is a National Camping Award which should be available through your
local council. It comes in three forms:
Yearly Award - The troop has to have at least 10 days and nights camping.
There are also recognitions for 20, 30 and 50 d/n camping annually. At
least 33% of registered scouts must be present for short-term camp ad 50% for
long-term for a d/n to count towards the award.
Cumulative Award - for total of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 trooop d/n camping
(retroactive to 1/1/91). Same requirements as above to count.
Individual Cumulative Award - for totals of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 d/n
camping. Can include camping activities which are not scout-oriented, and
scout activities which don't meet the requirements to count towards troop
awards, but must be while tenured as scout or adult scouter.
National pamphlet no. 33690 has all the info, application for the troop
awards. Each scout/scouter should keep his/her own record for individual
award - don't know what the application process is. Seems to me that most
troops should qualify for the annual award.
