Caught the end of a news items on CNN a short time ago that could put a
damper on what we do at Camp, especially camp fires.
Bottom line is that there is an organization ASCAP ? (American Society
of Composers and Publishers) I think that is what it stands for, that
has come out and stated that any organization that sings any of it's
copy write songs in a public gathering without paying a royalty
fee....summer camps are considered public, is subject to a fine and
possible jail time.
Songs such as "This Land is Your Land" and other songs might be illegal.
Is there anyone who has more information on this.
