The comments about the insinia are spot on except that as one wears the
beads and woggle over a period of years they get darker and more craggy -
rather like some Scout Leaders I know. Also some dishonest leaders dip
their beads in dark varnish to achieve that worn look.
If their are any rich Leaders across the pond - don't forget the Gilwell
Reunion which is held on the 1st weekend of Sept every year. A chance to
meet old friends and make new ones. More importantly a chance to be a bit
of a kid again. You know let your tent be a tip, don't wash up - all the
things you moan at the boys about!!
