Here is a question for the group.
At last night's planning meeting a question was asked about the following
A boy received Star in July. His leadership position for that rank was
leader. Elections are in September. He will still be patrol leader until
Mom asked the question "will the time from July to September as patrol
count towards 6 months of leadership required for life?"
The CC and I said "no, the clock would start running at election time when a
leadership position was received through election or appointment. The 2
months would be service given back to the troop." We also
said that in our opinion BSA policy was written in such a way that if left
individual unit interpretation.
This has never been a problem before since no boy has ever attained the star
and above ranks in exactly 6 months. This boy is advancing in rank at a
neck pace of receiving the next rank almost to the day of the previous rank.
will probably be the troop's youngest eagle next year at the age of 13.
We will be asking council for its opinion.
Opinions & suggestions please.
