There's an old show-business saying to the effect that if you have
what people want they will come. It works in Scouting too. Every year
about this time we sit our Scouts down for a "brainstorming"
session--everyone tosses out ideas for Troop activities for the next year.
Everything gets written down with no comments, criticisms, etc. At another
time (anywhere from a day to a week or so) everyone votes on activities.
The top vote getters become our program for the next year. The delay
between ideas and voting gives everyone time to think things over.
This is my only suggestion. If you have an active, fun program, one that is
inspired by what the *Scouts* want, you will have a successful Troop. Good
