The parents on our committee really didn't want to make their boys sell
things. We decided to just send a frank letter to all of our pack
families explaining our needs, why we didn't want to do more traditional
fund-raising, and what our needs were. We got tremendous response.
The only other fundraising we did was to sell refreshments at special
events like the Pinewood derby, where there's a lot of time spent
standing around and waiting. Families would each bring a palte of
cokkies or a jug of juice, we would sell them for a modest price, and the
pack would keep the proceeds.
Between these two we were able to meet all of our needs.
