Yes, we have the same problem in our area. The other boys start making dun
of them, and calling Cub Scouts "dumb, Stupid, Sissy, etc." We lost about
four guys in our den between third and fourth grade. It seems parents think
sports are more important. Oh well, scouting is not at the top of everyone's
list. A lot of parents do not know about and could care less about scouts..
just bring on the footballs, baseballs, scccer, basketballs, etc. That is
numero uno! <g>

When they get in the sixth grade (middle school) it really gets bad for
them. I hate to say it, but they are kidded and made fun of daily about
being in scouts. The whole problem is that these other kids do not know what
scouting is all about. Also, nowadays the cool thing to be is a "bad boy"
being in something like scouts, which is goodie two shoes, is not cool.
Ain't life crazy?!
