Bear Cub Death

I know that I'll get "mauled" on this, but here goes;
Without more information, I will side with the Scouts
on this one. Adults have been teaching youth as long
as I can remember things like "don't mess with
a mother bear when cubs are present", "very few things
are more dangerous that a bear with cubs", etc.
How many of those casting their votes for the bears
actually live in or near bear country.
Please put yourself in the terrifying situation of these
Scouts. Bad judgment? possibly. Isn't that what
we are trying to teach them
Better a dead bear, even accidentally, that a mauled
or dead scout (potentially). Our sons cannot be
replaced, a bear can.
