Consider attending summer camp at Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island
in 1997. They offer Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI)
certified classes in:
1) Basic SCUBA
2) Advanced SCUBA
3) Open Water Diving
4) Night Diving
These are not BSA courses, per se. They are offered as optional enrichment
material. Camp emerald Bay is owned and operated by the West Los Angeles
Area Council. I don't have the address, but you can get it from your local
council service center. You may also try calling directory information
in the 818 area code and asking for the listing for "Boy Scouts of America".
I hope that this programmatic option at a Scout camp is of some interest
to the SCOUTS-L list at large.
