Re the floppy hats, someone may have thought that they had too much of a
military look to them to be adopted by BSA.
As a matter of fact, you can make one your self that looks almost exactly
like the one that were sold on the trial basis by BSA. Go to an Army/Navy
store and get one of the hats called boonie hats and then glue the BSA patch
onto it. I have one that I bought from BSA supply and one that I got from an
Army/Navy surplus store and I can hardly tell them apart.
