Re: International Flights - Wear Uniform?

On our way from Provo, Utah to Philmont on a bus in 1969 we three Explorers
traveled in uniform, summer shorts, red garter tabs and all. We spent
after-midnight hours in Cheyenne, Wyoming, waiting for the bus to be serviced
so the trip could continue. At the time the bus depot was across the street
from a section where there was much nocturnal activity.
Walking around the block we got a couple of offers of "free benefits" for
young men in uniform. When we explained that the uniforms were BSA and not
military, the ladies told us they knew that. We thanked them for their
attempts to be hospitable, and for a story we could tell later. Fortunately,
about that time they called us to board the bus.
We also got free soft drinks with our meals in Evanston, for being in
