A Little Advice

We have been having troublee with the school we meet in as far as
scheduling. Last fall they took away the two rooms we have been using for 15
years. No damage, no complaints, etc., just a secretary who felt that the
mini-cheerleaders deserved the gym on our regular meeting night. We at the
time protested, but acquiesced. Now the district has decided that they will
take over the scheduling of all the schools in the district(large district).
The decision is that we don't need two rooms to meet in. Since the fall, our
program has suffered because of the lack of space. We have also seen cubs
move to other troops because of the lack of space. We have done a good job
of keeping both older and younger boys in the troop, so we need more space
on meeting nights. We have regular attendence of about 25 each Monday.
We have been approached by a new church to move into their space and to
change sponsoring intstitutions. ( Our PTO spnsor will do nothing to help us
in our problems and won't even answer phone calls) We also have another
troop within walking distance at another church that has fallen on hard
times. They are down to just a few scouts and are suffering through a Comm
Chair who wants to run pprogram. They are about to fold.
Question: Do we stay ?
Do we move to church #1( About two miles away ) ?
Do we approach the second church, with the dying troop and
make an offer.(Quite a few of our scouts attend this church) I also started
this troop 15 years ago, but left to start a Cub Pack at the school we are
now considering moving from.
I know this gropup is loaded with advice and opinions, so FIRE AWAY !!!
