Such an outpouring of advice. Nice to be among friends and compatriots. I'll
try to answer some questions here. Everyone should regonize their topic.
Yes , I have been to Council and our sponsor for support. That is how I
became CC. I can not blame our former CC who was our CM until her son when
on to Boy Scouts. She was intentionaly left out of what meetings we had.
When I made inquiries, I was told she was having personal problems and not
to bother her. One day I had heard enough and dropped by for a visit. Turned
into a lengthy visit. Opened both our eyes. I left with paperwork in hand to
transition to CC and had a lot more questions to ask. Moral is, do not
always believe what you are told.
Silliness. Does an overgrown "Boy Scout" with OA and merit badge sash that
is to small, wearing that old wedge style hat and whatever else I can find
count? My boy's, yes I refer to them as my boy's, know when this character
shows up there are awards to be had! I also carry a blue bandana.
Spontaneously it is thrown into the air whereby the boy's are to clap till
it hits the floor. I have been told to not leave home without it. Forget
that little green plastic card.
Went by the Scout office today and picked up a printout of our roster. My
son is the only one of 80 that is receiving Boy's Life. Training also is an
area that needs to be addressed. Myself, yes I can wear the Trained badge.
More importantly I'm looking at Wood Badge and beyond. Sure would like to go
back to Philmont again. I view Leader Training as self enrichment where
others also benefit.
Using Pack funds for a catered dinner. I could not face my niehbors after that.
After asking several times for an accounting of funds for the past year I
heard of one. The Treasurer handed one to the CM in front of me and then
they both walked off. I was flabbergasted among other things. Have received
many ideas on what should be in our budget. It has also created several new
Thanks for all the responses.

P.s. I may be CC but as long as I have a son in a Den , I will be involved
in it somehow. We had 3 registered Den leaders in my den last year and we
worked well together.
