Hello to the list. Just returned from summer camp and thought I would
address this thred again. While at camp we had 4 boards done and our
troop now has 1 new tenderfoot and 2 new 2ond class scouts more on 4th
in a minute. The 3 boys had a big gleam when they were told of their
advancement at the nightly troop campfire, not to mention the pride when
we returned home and first saw parents.
Now the 4th boy had a special BOR, he is on the summer camp staff and
waited for the week when the troop was their, also the district
advancement chair's troop was their. All the proper people for a Eagle
board were in camp. One hour later Troop 159 had a new Eagle Scout.
Had this board not been done, it would be another month till the scout
would be home. Our council camp is about a hour an a half drive. When
my son came to the troop campsite and said he passed helped by having
the younger scouts looking to see if they could advance durning the
week, 3 did.
Why have a BOR at camp, I still say why not.
BTW my son's head is now really swelled, 3 weeks early hi got his vigil.
