One movie that comes to my mind is "Mr. Roberts". It's about life on-board
a Navy supply ship during the waning days of WWII. What commends itself is
that two different styles of leadership are portrayed side-by-side.
Henry Fonda and James Cagney are the executive officer and captain,
respectively, with two clearly different leadership styles.
One leader is effective at keeping the crew working as a team
and the other is not. The movie is mostly humorous
with some dramatic moments, and a very poignant ending. Seems like this
movie could generate a lot of discussion. Admittedly, it was made in the 50s
and there's not a whole lot of action. (Language and violence are not issues.)
But it's a great story with some of Hollywood's best actors (Fonda, Cagney,
Jack Lemmon, William Powell).
