Dear fellow Scouters on the internet,
Just a note to let you all know that my wife, Maxine, and I have deceided to
make a big change in our lives. We will be moving to Mesa, AZ! (better job
prospects, closer to in-laws, NO SNOW and its simply time for a change and a
challange) I'd say "the grass is always greener...." but we were down there
in March and they don't have much grass in Mesa, mostly the yards are
covered with rock. (I"m bringing several of those little "Chem-Lawn"
warning signs to post around the yard just to see what the natives say.) We
have just sold the house and are busy sorting, tossing, and packing for the
move. it is amazing haw much stuff (read junk) we have managed to collect
in 24 years of marrage. We are both packrats but have managed to dispose of
enough junk to choke the garbage truck twice a week. Don't ever start
counting (and packing) those mugs from Cub day camps and Scout dinners. The
final total is scarry! But they are being packed along with the "T" shirts
from camp and the Scout patches from all over.
We plan on loading the "U-HAUL" the first part of August and therefore I
will be off the list from late July til whenever we get settled and aquire a
computer and provider. (this computer is my sons and they will be moving to
Flagstaff, AZ to attend NAU.) So it may be some time before I get back on
the list once I unsubscribe.
I have really enjoyed the fellowship of the SCOUTS-L list and have gained
much valuble information from the postings here. What I have enjoyed most
though, has been the polite, Scout-like manner of the postings. Finding out
that the challanges I have faced in Scouts are very simualr to what many of
you have to deal with too was also an eyeopener.
Scouting was very important to me when I was young, Scouting made a
differance in my life, my wifes life and the lives of my sons. I plan to
remain involved in Scouting once we get settled in Mesa. If there is anyone
on the list in the East Mesa/Apache Junction area, please shoot me a note.
I know CHUCK BRAMLET is up there north of Phoenix. Chuck, with the boys at
NAU, I'll be running up I-17 from time to time so maybe we can get together
for a cup of coffee.
