Whether I'm in charge or not, I always offer the grizzly bear the
opportunity to CHAIR the event "next time" so he/she can take care of
all these terrible problems. And I try to be so polite and
understanding, with terms like, "Yes, I hear what
you're saying. I'll let the Chairman/District
Exec/Committee/Scoutmaster know that you would like to be in charge
next year. I know that you can take care of all of these things that
you've brought to my attention." And let me point out that I learned
this _by example_ from the excellent leadership in Mustang District and
that I was NOT the grizzly bear...not that day anyway <g>.
My husband and I chaired Derby Day in our District and the opportunity
was offered several times. Guess who is still chairing?
