Our troop gives each new scout a black neckerchief with red trim. The scouts
designed a round three part patch which gets added on to the neckerchief as
1.The bottom third(and the first to be earned) the troop numbers is earned
for repeating the scout law and it's meanings verbatem. Not an easy thing to
do but most scouts have done it.
2. Upper left - A Backpack picture- for hiking three peaks over 8000 feet high
3. Upper right - a tent picture - for earning the camping merit badge.
The scouts seem to enjoy earning their patch and although there are
variations in the neckerchief there is still a sense of uniformity.
