Call the Philmont Training Center, ask for the Registrar. Ask about
aranging transportation from the Raton Train Station. They will take
your information (name, conferance, arrival date, number arriving) and
put you on the bus schedule. Philmont runs buses daily to Raton, and
usually has at least one bus meeting each train in Raton. They will
charge you for this. In 1990, I think it was $15 per person (round
trip, I think).
This is far cheaper than renting a car (since you would probably have to
take it for the week, since I doubt there is any place to return it in
Cimarron), and probably easier than trying to make connections with the
bus (I suspect that the commercial bus to Cimarron won't wait if^H^H
when the train is late. The Philmont buses will). The distance between
Cimarron and Raton is 45 miles.

Anyone else going to go that day for the week and would like a
fellow Scouter to share the ride, and gas and fare?
Any suggestions would be helpful.
