Please Identify Yourselves

A common problem exists on both SCOUTS-L and ARROW-L. Many people ask
for private responses, but they do not include their e-mail address in
the text of their message. (Others include 4 or 5 e-mail addresses!!
How do they keep up with all that?)
Others have brought this up, and I have brought it up at least once in
the past. Some of our e-mail programs DO NOT identify the individual
by whom the message was sent. I'm using Lotus cc:Mail 2.2, which only
tells me that my messages are from
SCOUTS-L - Youth Groups Discussion List <SCOUTS-L@TCUBVM.IS.TCU.EDU>
ARROW-L - Order of the Arrow BSA List <ARROW-L@TCUBVM.IS.TCU.EDU> at
They actually appear all on one line, but there isn't enough room with
the margin settings I currently am using.
So, please include your e-mail address at the bottom of your messages
if you would like private replies. It would be nice to include it
even if you don't specifically ask for a private reply so we may
respond to you privately if we feel the response doesn't need to go to
the list. If trying to protect your own privacy, leave it out.
Another topic is margins. Some folks use larger (wider) margins than
others, which causes funny line wraps. I'm also sure that some e-mail
software may not word-wrap a la word processors.
What we find works well (and it's the default we set when issuing a
new PC to a user) is to set the left margin at 5 and the right margin
at 75. This provides some uniformity amongst the user community. It
might work here also.
Thanks for considering my suggestions.
