As has already been noted paint guns are prohibited by BSA. However, a
good alternative that our Scouts like is the laser-tag facilities.
Obviously it's an urban, inside activity, and can't be done on a camping
trip, but if the Scouts want to do that sort of activity, this is a good
Paint guns were prohibited for very good reasons; despite protective
clothing and eye protection, the "enthusiasm of the moment" often results
in injuries, sometimes to eyes, and some very nasty bruises and welts,
even with protective clothing. It just isn't worth the risk. One typical
problem is that the players get way to close to each other and the force
of the paint ball at close range is quite dangerous.
